Professional Biography

Heather Norman-Burgdolf joined the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition as an Assistant Extension Professor and Extension Specialist in Food and Nutrition in January 2017. Her work includes translating research into extension programming related to nutrition and chronic diseases. Primarily, her research and publications focus on making healthy food choices easier for individuals living in rural Kentucky communities. In addition, Heather is passionate about student professional development. She looks for opportunities to help students grow their transferable skills so they are more competitive and prepared for their own future career aspirations.

Heather is a native Kentuckian - raised in Lyon County, Kentucky. You can mostly find her outside or in the kitchen with her family preparing a new recipe. She enjoys lots of coffee, traveling all over the world, puzzles, Lego kits, and baking shows in her free time.
