Professional Biography

Dr. Heather Norman-Burgdolf is an Associate Extension Professor in the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at the University of Kentucky. With a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health Essentials from Cornell University, she leads statewide efforts to translate nutrition science into accessible, evidence-based programs that improve community health. Her work focuses on chronic disease prevention and comprehensive nutrition education, particularly in rural and underserved populations.

Dr. Norman-Burgdolf has authored over 70 peer-reviewed Extension publications and 30+ journal articles, developed multiple original curricula, and collaborated on $4.6 million in grant funded projects. She is a frequent speaker at national conferences and a trusted voice in media, podcasts, and public health collaborations. Her leadership in Cooperative Extension has earned her numerous awards, including national recognition for innovation and research excellence.
