Professional Biography
Christa Mayfield supports the Food As Health Alliance’s research efforts to examine the effectiveness of multiple food as health interventions across the Commonwealth. Her work has focused on improving food security through access to federal food programs and building strong community networks. Most recently, Christa supported a USDA grant in the College of Public Health aimed at improving food security and healthy eating in a rural community through community engagement. Prior to joining UK, she worked at The Greater Boston Food Bank developing an outreach program for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program utilizing innovative technologies. In her free time, you can find Christa hiking, camping, or cooking with her family.
