Professional Biography

Dr. Julie Plasencia is a registered dietitian and Associate Professor in the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition. She is the Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics and holds a joint appointment at the College of Dentistry. She conducts mixed methods research on nutrition-related health disparities, with a focus on the cultural food practices of Hispanics/Latinos and youth health. Dr. Plasencia is also a  Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Clinical Scholar Alumni, and Director of the Bridge Scholars Program.
