Education Abroad

Students have opportunities for education abroad with our department-led trips to Australia, Ghana and Italy. Study tours last for different lengths of stay, and students are able to immerse themselves in another culture as they learn about global nutrition.

Immerse yourself in the culture while completing a community development project in Melborne. This course fulfills the requirements for DHN 318: Hunger, Food Behavior and the Environment. Travel to the outback winter 2020. Visit the UK Education Abroad and Exchanges to learn more and apply before the deadline of September 30, 2019. Contact Dr. Alison Gustafson for more information.

Discover the food, farming and entrepreneurial activities in a developing country and understand how hunger, agriculture and gender disparities impact the lives of families. Participate in lectures on the University of Ghana campus and travel to remote villages to see a women’s fabric cooperative, orphanage and school feeding program summer 2021. Contact Dr. Janet Mullins for more information.

Join your fellow dietetics and human nutrition students on an exploration of the heritage of sustainable food and cultural diversity. Visit Florence, Rome, Venice, Cinque Terre, Pisa and Bologna summer 2020. Contact Dr. Liz Combs for more information.

We encourage our students to participate in an education abroad experience and explore additional opportunities that align with majors and career goals through UK Education Abroad & Exchanges.
